October 6, 2012: Soccer, Soccer, More Soccer

On Saturday, Sept 29th, we were in Albion, for a Varsity Soccer game against Central Noble.  Lakewood won.  Beautiful place - Central Noble's soccer field is in a park.   The picture below shows a little of the trees in the back of the field.

The last Sunday of September we were in Goshen for Victor's Ranger (club soccer)  game.  Weather was nice. 

This last week both boys had school soccer games on Monday - October 1st - we just hate that when it happens.
RJ was at Angola:

Victor was in Fort Wayne, at Canterbury.  (John went there)

On Wed, Oct 3 - RJ's team played their first sectional team, and won.  It was an easy win for them, sad news was that one of the guys went up for a header, one of the opposing team players came in under him, our guy landed flat on his back, giving him a concussion and a fractured collar bone.  So he is finished.

John's Trip to Picture Rock

August 8-11, 2012 John traveled with friends, family to upper peninsula of Michigan, Picture Rock on the shores of Lake Superior.  

3 days, hiking, spending nights in a tent, carrying everything in his backpack.  Eating yummy camp food!  NO flush toilets.  Filtering lake water to drink.  

At night going to sleep hearing the sounds of the water;  no other sounds, no cars, sirens, just nature.

Walking along the trail, day 2-3, 200 feet above Lake Superior.  Within 6 feet of the edge.

John took all these photos with his phone.  

A Weekend of SoccerTournament

Busy Soccer Wkend - 2 games on Saturday, 1 game on Sunday for Victor with the Rangers team;  Sunday evening soccer training with the Rangers for both RJ and Victor.  What fun! What tired and cranky boys!   

Birthday Boy - 12years !!!

Hard to believe Victor turned 12 on Wed..  He wasn't to thrilled that his birthday fell on the first day of school.  But he survived.

Olive Garden - the seafood alfredo, breadsticks are his favorite.  

  What good looking boys!  

For his birthday Vic took in 3 dozen glazed yummies for his class.  

School is starting out well:  he has a new principal, a new bible teacher, a new algebra teacher, a new gym teacher a new spanish teacher, a favorite english, a favorite science teacher back!

Soccer Season has started!!!

We are ending the first week of school and starting into SOCCER!!!!  RJ is #19!  

Our schedules are pretty much following this pattern:  School/Work; 3:30-5 Vic school soccer practice; 3:30-5:30 RJ school soccer practice; 6-7:30 Vic Club soccer practice; homework or if there is a soccer game - we are there.  

Thank You God for 2 healthy boys!

July 2, 2012: Special Time With Family and Victor's Baptism

June 30th and July 1st was the celebration for Uncle Merve and Aunt Pat.  Here are a few pics of that get together!

End of April 2012 - Really????

Talk about being way behind in posts- I didn't realize that the last one was in December.  So - April - RJ turned 16!!!  Can't believe it!

The Saturday before RJ's Birthday - we met up at his favorite pizza joint ever - Columbo's in Elkhart.

In April - Victor's soccer team had a track and field day:

Realized a couple things that day .... he needs running shoes.

By this time - he was fed up with his shoes - and started running barefoot!

We got to see someone we know .... we were only about 10 min from her house.

This game was April 15 

Yes - raining, cold, windy - awesome day for a soccer game - in Warsaw.

It was fun to watch!
